The Department will admit 45 undergraduate students in 2021. Applicants from newly graduates of comprehension and vocational high schools as well as previous graduates of general study high schools are encouraged submit their application. Graduates of this program are qualified to undertake certification examination for Speech-Language Pathologist or Audiologist administered by Ministry of Examination, R.O.C.

The department of speech-language pathology and audiology was founded in 2015 and currently offers 4-year baccalaureate program. Our program currently has 7 full-time faculty members with a student body of about 200 .

The mission of the Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology is to educate Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists with professional knowledge base and clinical competency.

We also integrate the speech and hearing professions with multiple application skills in long term care, early intervention, neurogenic disorders and alternative communication technology.

Core competencies

The curriculum of the Department is scheduled as follows: The first stage involved with basic health science courses including introduction to Speech and Heating Sciences. The second stage involved with professional courses in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, including various fields in speech therapy and hearing assessment, as well as traineeship. The final stage involved with the integration of professional courses, case discussion, special topics and case study to strengthen students with professional knowledge and skills in clinical practice. All students will be placed in externship during the final year, the clinical practicum includes assessment and management in voice, speech, language, swallowing as well as hearing and balance disorders for all age population.

We integrate the speech and hearing professions with multiple application skills in long term care, early intervention, neurogenic disorders and alternative communication technology and also facilitate self-learning, logic thinking and problem solving ability in the program to maximize professional and scientific autonomy.
